What makes Natural Common Scents products different from conventional skincare?

Our products are handmade in small batches in our own New Zealand workshop using 100% natural ingredients. We never use parabens, sulphates, or synthetic fragrances. Every formula is designed to be gentle enough for sensitive skin, babies, and pets — without compromising on effectiveness.

Are your products safe for babies and sensitive skin?

Yes. Our formulations are specifically designed with sensitive skin in mind, using gentle, plant-based ingredients like castile soap, natural butters, and pure essential oils. Our Boob-ease balm is a favourite among breastfeeding mums.

Are your products safe for pets?

Absolutely. Our Dashing Hound range is specially formulated for dogs with lick-safe ingredients and calming scents, including shampoos and paw balms.

What ingredients do you use — and what do you avoid?

We use pure essential oils, olive oil-based castile soap, and natural butters and waxes including shea, cocoa, and beeswax. We never use parabens, sulphates, or synthetic fragrances.

Are your products made in New Zealand?

Yes — everything is handmade in small batches in our own workshop in Aotearoa New Zealand.

Are your products tested on animals?

No. We are proudly cruelty-free.

Who is behind Natural Common Scents?

Natural Common Scents was founded in June 2021 by Sandra Nelson, a New Zealand-based dog mum frustrated by the chemicals in everyday skincare. Sandra makes every product herself in her own workshop.

Where are your products made?

All products are handmade in small batches in our own workshop in New Zealand.

Can I find your products in stores?

Yes! Selected products are available at our retail stockists:
